Bluebird Gap Farm HistoryThe City of Hampton acquired the property and opened Bluebird Gap Farm in 1969. The farm had previously been open just down the street under the name Old MacDonald's Farm, but was forced to move when construction began on the Hampton Coliseum. Since 1969, Bluebird Gap Farm has been in its present location. The history on the property dates back to the 1600’s and remained in the same family from the mid 1600’s until the 1950’s. The name Bluebird Gap derives from the area in which the farm now resides. It is not yet known whether the Sinclair and/or Davis family named the area for a specific reason in the 1800’s. |
