The Staff

The 311 Call Center staff is committed to providing callers with outstanding customer service. Since we opened in September of 1999, we have taken 2,565,689 calls and handled 18,490 emails. Our average call volume is between 450 and 600 calls a day.

Those calls can result in a service request and we have taken quite a few since 1999, 1,049,441 to be exact. Residents can report a pothole, a traffic light malfunction, sewer stoppage, ask for tires to be picked up or call in a building inspection, just to name a few.

And if you don't need a service, you may need to call in to find out if trash will be picked up on a holiday, find out what special events are going on at Buckroe Beach or find out how to get a marriage license. With over 5,000 frequently asked questions (faqs), we can answer your question if it is related to Hampton city government.

We are staffed with one call center manager, an information manager, one team leader, 8 full time customer advocates and several part time advocates.
